Almost 150 Nuu-chah-nulth-aht congregated in Vancouver on Thursday to reconnect with their cultural roots.
The gathering was organized by the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council's Quu'asa program as part of a travelling series of events this month serving Nuu-chah-nulth people in urban centres. On Dec. 7 Vancouver's Ukranian Cultural Centre was packed for an afternoon and evening of cultural activities, food and information sharing from Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council staff.
The next urban gathering is scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Seattle, Wash., followed by events next week in Nanaimo on Dec. 14 and Victoria Dec. 15.
